Day 16 완 료

여기에 두개의 고요한 바다 사진이 있다. between negotiating swells, I got off during an early water break west of Namwon, outside Kumho Resort, and as the tourist map reads: "Namwonkeuneong Beach Beauty Spot."

Day 16 of The Jeju Big Swim for Sunday, August 15, 2010, we left Namwon Harbor at 7:45 a.m., and arrived at Wimi Harbor by 11:15 a.m., covering 7 kilometers in 3.5 hours, pacing at 2 kmph.
Out of Namwon Harbor, dare I say, an entourage of well-wishers led by Chai Ba-da, cheered us before we had to spend an enormous amount of energy heading straight into the sea for half a kilometer, darting whitewater wave after whitewater wave to get far enough around a reef lighthouse before turning and going west.
This was nerve racking to say the least.

We arrived at Wimi, with minimal breaks, and I am happy to annouce, I believe, we have now reached full "lookie loo" status with the locals. The stares are priceless from the people watching from shore, harbors, and lighhouse vantage points.
Monday awaits. It appeared today west of Wimi the waters are much more tolerable and manageable. It we can, our sights are set on Seogwipo Harbor for Day 17.
When we do, I will have plenty to write about and a lengthy notebook as well.
